May 23: Kerala Chief Minister V. S. Achutanandan announced Sunday that it will give a compensation of Rs 3 lakh each to the families of the 46 people of Kerala who lost their lives in the tragic plane crash at Mangalore International Airport.
Forty-six of the 158 people who were killed in the crash hailed from Kerala. Thirty-eight of these bodies have already been identified; and the last rites of thirty-one have already been conducted in Kasargod and Kannur.
The relatives of eight more victims are still trying to identify the bodies of their loved ones in Mangalore.
