Kokkada village peacefully celebrates Eid

Mangaluru, July 19, 2015 :  As per reliable reports, the distrubance on Id-ul-Fitr  was cooled and Eid was celebrated at Kokkada village in Puttur Taluk, which witnessed mild tensions earlier.

It is stated  after a group of persons attacked a place of worship in the village allegedly in retaliation to an attack on employees of a petrol pump at nearby Sauthadka.

The group pelted stones at the prayer hall and three persons, offering prayers, were injured. Police personnel swung into action and brought the situation under control. Additional forces were deployed to ensure peace. The Uppinangady police  stated that the day was peaceful and Eid celebrations were on schedule.
