Konkan railways offers assistance on trains for needy Sr.Citizens

Mangaluru, Dec 30, 2015: With a view to extend  help to senior citizens travelling in trains on the Konkan Railways , ‘shravan seva’, a programme under which patients and Sr Citizens could seek the services of attendants.

Attendants could carry their luggage in boarding and alighting points for free. The facility could be sought by sending an SMS four hours in advance of their journey, indicating their PNR, coach and seat number on Mobile No. 09664044456.

The services were available at Chiplun, Ratnagiri,  Thivim, Karmali and Madgaon Stations. So far, about 1,600 senior citizens have availed themselves of the fcility.
