Konkani film ‘Ujwaadu’ to be screened at Bangalore International Film Fest

Kasargod, Dec 19, 2012 : The Konkani film “Ujwaadu” has been selected to be screened at the International Film Festival to be held in Bangalore from December 20 to 27. This is the first time that a Konkani film is screened at the international festival . “Ujwaadu” movie has been brought out in the Konkani language spoken by the GSB community and is the first Konkani film after a gap of nearly 35 years.

The film which has already been screened in Mangalore, Udupi, Karkala, Bangalore and other places, will shortly be screened in Maharashtra, Chennai and Goa. Produced under the banner of Mitra Media Productions, the story and screen play for this film has been scripted by Kasargod Chinna who is now the President of Konkani Sahitya Academy. Chinna is also the director of the movie.

The star caste of this film includes Shivadhwaj, Neethu, Sadashiv Brahmavar, Umashree, Sandhya Pai and Om Ganesh.
