Mangaluru, Feb 20, 2015 : At a oress briefing on Feb 18. Wednesday at A B Shetty Centenary Hall, Tulu Academy Chairperson Janaki M Brahmavar said Minister for Health and Family Welfare U T Khader will inaugurate the programme at 9.30 pm, Yakshagana scholar N Narayan Shetty Shimanthur will be the chief guest, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel will be the guest of honour, MLA B A Mohiyuddin Bava, MLC Ganesh Karnik, Mayor Mahabala Marla and DK district working journalists association President Jagannath Shetty Bala will participate.
A poets symposium session will be an item on the occasion. B M Rohini, Dr Lakshmi G Prasad, Devika Nagesh will speak on various Tulu works in the first session. Dr Mahalinga Bhat, Muddu Moodubelle, Basuma Kodagu and Thamma Lakshmana will speak on Tulu theatre in the second session.
The former and the current chairpersons in Tulu Sahitya Academy will take part in the special poets symposium ’Kabithedaisira’. The poems will be recited and dance artistes will perform and artists will narrate the emosions in the poem through drawing. Prof B A Vivek Rai will preside, Dr Vaman Nandavar, Dr Palthadi Ramakrishna Achar, M K Seetharam Kulal, Umanath A Kotiyan and Janaki M Brahmavar will recite their poems. Mime Ramdas, Rathnavathi Baikadi, Dr Prathibha Rai and Kumari Manwitha will recite the poems, Sri Poornesh and Sapna Norohna will draw paintings while the troupes lead by Vidyashree Radhakrisha and Suresh Attavara will perform the dance it was informed.
The valedictory programme will be held at 4.30 pm. District-in-Charge Minister B Ramanath Rai, MLA J R Lobo, MLC Ivan D’Souza, DK DC Adoor B Ibrahim and others will participate. Mangalore University Kannada Professor Dr K Chinnappa Gowda will deliver the valedictory address.
Following the stage prgramme, a dance drama ’Kombuda Madimaye’, authored by Pramoda Suvarna will be performed by Suresh Attavara and troupe. Also there will be folk dance performance by the students of Sharada Vidyalaya and singing by Zenkara Gana Kala Kendra. Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy Registrar Chandrahas Rai B, Convener Roopakala Alva, Mohan Koppala and Prof Vedavathi were present.
