Byndoor, Nov 9, 2013: “Government has released Rs 84lac for the renovation of National Highway stretching from Kundapur to Shiroor. Tender has been called for the same. The renovation works will start before November 15,” said Vinay Kumar Sorake, Udupi district in-charge minister.
Addressing the media on Friday, November 8, he said, “The mini bunder project is undertaken at a cost of Rs 30cr which is sanctioned by the state government. A proposal to sanction another Rs 33cr for the same has already been placed. The chief minister also has a soft corner towards fishermen. The matter will be discussed with the MLA’s of the coastal region in the cabinet,” he said.
He also assured developmental works in villages and special preference to Byndoor.
K. Gopal Poojary, Byndoor MLA, Raju Poojary, Taluk Panchayat member, Ramachandra Kharvi, president of Byndoor trawler boat fishing and Madan Kumar were present among others.
