Kundapur, July 14, 2014:  BJP members Bhaskara Billava and Nagesh Belur have been elected as the president and vice president respectively for the third term in  Kundapur Taluk Panchayat.

 Bhaskara Billava represents Koni constituency,  Nagesh Belur represents Belur constituency. There are 22 BJP members in the 35 member council of Kundapur Taluk Panchayat. Twelve members are from Congress and one is from CPM. Kundapur Assistant Commissioner Yogeshwar conducted the election polls. Congress members, Pradeep Shetty representing Kavradi constituency and Susheela representing Tallur constituency contested against Bhaskara Billava and Nagesh Belur respectively. The elected candidates got 22 votes each.

Bhaskara Billava said his priority is to provide clean drinking water. Major thrust would be given to basic infrastructural facilities like roads, streets lights and toilets for  the general public.  He added that he has a vision and plan to make the taluk a role model in the district.
