Kundapur excise officials arrests two person; seize 21.180 litres of Goa liquor

Kundapur, Dec 24, 2013: Kundapur excise officials arrested two persons and seized several bottles of liquor on Dec 24, Tuesday, which were illegally transported by bus from Goa to Mangalore.

The arrested are identifies as Prakash Nayak from Goa and Srinivasa Moorthy from Tumkur.

The officials seized 21.180 litres of Goa liquor worth Rs 25,000 at Shiroor check post in the morning based on the information given by the sources. They also seized Volvo AC bus of Paulo Travels valued at Rs 35 lakhs. The bus owner is yet to be arrested.

The seized bottles are valued Rs 100 to several thousand per bottles.

The operation was undertaken by Excise sub-inspector Vinod Kumar, Kundapur division excise inspector H Shanker, Manjunath, staff Raviraj Annigeri, K Shanker, Chandrashekar and driver Sudhakar.
