Mangalore, June 21, 2014: Addressing the press, Minister for Ports and Textiles Baburao Chinchansur said on June 20, a dedicated jetty for tourism and trade between Mangalore and Lakshadweep will be taken in the Cabinet meeting scheduled for the coming week,.
R. Mohan, Director of Ports, said the 300-metre-long jetty – on the northern side of the old port at Bunder – would come up at a cost of Rs. 58 crore, once approved. The jetty will have facilities for both tourists and traders who export commodities to the island Union territory.
