Mangalore, oct 4, 2012 : The Lokayukta police nabbed Damodar Naik, district manager of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Development Corporation Limited, when he was receiving a sum of Rs. 5,000 on Wednesday.
Lokayukta police officer C. E. Thimmaiah told reporters that Mr. Naik had demanded Rs. 2000 each from five Kundapur-based beneficiaries to clear the cheques they had received under the Ganga Kalyan Scheme on September 27. One of these beneficiaries complained to the Lokayukta police.
The police caught Mr. Naik when he was accepting the first installment of Rs. 5000 at the corporation’s office near KSRTC Bus Stand. They also seized Rs. 5000 from him and arrested him.
