Lyned bags Corporation Bank Gold Medal

Mangalore, Apr 21: Ms Lyned Dafny Lasrado, daughter of Mr. Felix D’ Lasrado, the senior manager of Souza Aluminum Industries, and Mrs. Agnes Gomes, a teacher at St Anne’s High School, has bagged the Corporation Bank Gold Medal for the Best Outgoing Post Graduate Student of St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangalore. She received the medal during on the Annual Day. 

She also bagged the I rank in M. Sc. Biotechnology as well as the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Science Talent Research Scholar Award of 2007. 

During her undergraduate and post graduate studies, she conducted research on “Effect of Perturbation on the Coherence and Stability of Metapopulation” at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore; “Biochemical Characterization of Pulses” at St Aloysius College, Mangalore; and “Effect of Tinospora cordifolia in Inducing Pancreatic Regeneration in Rats with Streptozotocin Induced Diabetes” at St Aloysius College, Mangalore. 

She has qualified for UGC’s Junior Research Fellowship and GATE in 2008. She has cleared the entrance exams for doctoral studies from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2009 and National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi in 2009. 

Ms Lyned is now pursuing her doctoral studies under CSIR Research Fellowship at Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) in Mysore.
