Mangalore, Aug 3, 2014: Reports inform that, Palakkad Division of Southern Railway has started a 30 days class for the frontline Railway staff in Mangalore Central station on August 1.
The aim of the training is to familiarise the employees with the language of Kannada to facilitate ease and effective interaction with the local public at Mangalore Central Station . Divisional Manager Anand Prakash spoke about the relevance and necessity of Kannada language being used by the Railway staff, for the effective interaction with passengers and commuters. He stressed on the need for evolving sufficient working knowledge of Kannada among the staff.
Sharada Vidyalaya Kannada teacher Balakrishna Shetty said that the importance of promoting local languages among the Railway staff, is of utmost relevant. He interacted with the Railway staff at Mangalore Central on the communication problems they face while conversing with public or passengers.
