MCC raids pubs/bar and restaurants in Mangalore

Mangalore, Aug 16, 2012: The Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) raided a pub and a bar and restaurant, which were being run without a trade license, on August 16, Thursday. 

The team raided Liquid Lounge near Don Bosco Hall and Mangala Bar and Restaurant in Valencia. 

The team discovered that Mangala Bar and Restaurant was running its new pub without a license. Besides, the bar and restaurant’s kitchen was dirty and unhygienic and the medical certificate had expired. The civic body served a notice on the owner, directing him to renew the license within one week. 

The team also found that Liquid Lounge near Don Bosco Hall did not have a permit for its DJ and had constructed its kitchen in the wrong place, in violation of MCC guidelines. The team directed the owner to either produce his license or renew it. 

The team comprised Deputy Health Officer Raghunath and health inspectors Santhosh and Sushanth.
