Mangalore, May 25, 2014: Health department officials of the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) on May 24  inspected  hotels near the KSRTC bus stand area and served notices to them for not maintaining basic hygiene  and ordered them to rectify the situation within seven days.

According to a press release, the team led by Health officer Dr Manjayya Shetty visited KSRTC bus stand workshop and buildings, Naivadya hotel and Vaibhav Refreshments.  The team directed the authorities to clear water stored in water tanks at KSRTC workshop.  Due to increase in Malaria cases in Kadri Kambala road, the team visited construction sites there and found  mosquito breeding conditions. The team has directed the concerned to clean and maintain the premises. Such inspections and remedy are vital in Mangalore city.
