MLC hopes for Konkani Nataka academy soon

Mangalore , Oct 13, 2014: Member of Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza on  said he was hopeful of getting a Nataka Academy for Konkani, which is included in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution. Speaking at the annual day celebrations of the Konkani Nataka Sabha here, MLC D’Souza said he would strive to get the academy along with MLA J.R. Lobo. He said unlike other languages, Konkani is not confined to a particular region; but is spoken across the country right from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. He said he would stake claim for Konkani in the upcoming Ranga Mandira for the city.
