Feb 14, 2017: The Kaushal Vikas Kendra of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL), inaugurated recently, will train 60 youth in the first batch.
Speaking on the occasion, H. Kumar, Managing Director, said that the 60 youth would be trained in partnership with NTTF in two trades.
These were industrial electrician and CNC operator-turning. Those within the age group of 17 to 25 years, with the eligibility of 12th pass or ITI will be trained as industrial electricians and those with 10th pass/12th pass or fail, would be trained in CNC operator-turning.
All expenses, including food, lodging, tutorial expenses, clothing – in the form of uniforms – would be borne by the Kaushal Vikas Kendra. On successful completion, Certification at Level 3, under Capital Goods Sector Skill Council, would be issued and candidates with no mobility constraint would be placed by NTTF. Mr. Kumar announced that the MRPL has received the approval to launch a start up fund of Rs. 10 crore which would be used to support the new ventures and startups of the youth. Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, Dakshina Kannada, inaugurated the Kendra. Mohiuddin Bawa, MLA, Mangaluru City North, was present. The MLA promised to help in sanctioning 10 acres of land for setting up the Kendra in a separate premises, a release said.
Local Campus selection: Alpha 9 Marine Service, a Gujarat-based maritime company will hold campus selection at Karavali Institute of Technology for ship management posts on February 15. Male candidates pursuing final year B.E. may attend. Those selected would be paid salaries ranging from Rs. 2.3 lakh to Rs. 4.8 lakh a year.
