Mangaluru, Aug 06, 2016: A media information from the co-ordinator Centralised Admission Committee said that MU, Mangalore University is set for the admission of students into its various postgraduate departments through central admission and counselling process from August 8 to 16.  The counselling will be held at the Mangala Auditorium, Mangalagangothri.

The university is likely to fill up 820 seats for 23 postgraduate programmes and PG diploma/short term certificate programmes under science faculty, about 354 seats for nine programmes under Arts faculty, about 197 seats under Commerce and Management faculty and about 110 seats under Education faculty in its various Departments of Postgraduate Studies at Mangalagangothri campus.

Apart from this, there are about 260 seats in five postgraduates programmes at the University College, Mangaluru, 126 seats at the University Evening College, Mangaluru, 157 seats for 5 postgraduates programmes at FMKMC College, Madikeri and 284 seats for 8 postgraduates programmes at the postgraduate centre, Chikka Aluvara. There will be 10 additional seats in each of the course under special quota such as defence personnel or ex-servicemen, persons with disability, NCC, NSS, sports, scouts, cultural activity, MU employee, J and K migrants, N-E states and transgender. About 8% of the sanctioned intake in each programme is also reserved for Hyderabad-Karnataka students.

Counselling : The counselling for courses under Commerce and Management faculty will be held on August 8, Science faculty on August 10 and Arts and Education faculty on August 12.

The consolidated list of candidates and the lists of selected and waiting list of candidates has been uploaded in the web portal of the university. The students have been told to obtain the details from the university website (www.mangaloreuniversity.ac.in) and appear before the selection committee for admission along with the required fee and documents in original.

Pay in instalments  : This year, a provision has been made for the needy candidates to pay the annual course fee in two instalments in order to attract more number of students to postgraduates programmes. The admissions for the government seats in affiliated colleges will be held on August 16.
