Malnutrition among kids - prevention workshop July 5

Mangalore, July 05, 2014:   Speaking to mediapersons, district Judge Ashok G Nijagannavar said that  Dakshina Kannada District Legal Services Authority, the district administration, Zilla Panchayat and Mangalore Bar Association will jointly organise an awareness workshop on prevention of malnutrition among children and bringing back the children who have been left out of the school, on July 5 at Rosario Cathedral hall.

This workshop is a part of the Karnataka State Legal Service Authority’s initiative to address the  mentioned  issues during the year 2014-15. ’ASHAs’, anganawadi workers, health workers and representatives from NGOs will participate in the workshop.

High Court Judge and Karnataka State Legal Service Authority Executive Chairman N KPatil will inaugurate the workshop. High Court judges KL Manjunath and K Bhakthavathsala, L Narayanaswami will be the guests. Two informative sessions will be held on the occasion. Reproductive and Child Health district officer Dr Rukmini will deliver a talk on prevention of malnutrition among children and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Deputy Project Coordinator N Shivaprakash will speak about an action plan to bring back the school drop outs within the purview of education system, Principal District and Sessions Judge Uma M G said.
