Malpe: Young couple attacked over trivial issue

Udupi, May 6, 2013: A young couple sustained injuries and had to be hospitalized when a minor difference between two families resulted in a clash at Hoode here. Mohammad Saleem (31) and his wife  Zubeida have been admitted to the Government Hospital.

According to reports, the couple stayed in a rented house along with another couple named Mohammad and Zohra. Sources said on May 5, Sunday, the women had a tiff over the issue of disposal of waste. As a continuation of the quarrel, at around 7 pm Mohammad and Zohra along with three others namely Afzal, Abdul and Rafiq  asked Saleem to come out and threatened him with a knife. When Zubaida rushed to her husband’s help, she was injured on her face and Saleem was beaten with rods.

There are reports that the assailants even arrived at the hospital and threatened the couple. Saleem has lodged a  complaint with Malpe police and are conducting the investigations.
