Man dies in hospital after assault at Matadakani Road

Mangalore, April 29: John Pinto, a resident of Mannagudda, was found to have been murdered near Matadakani Road, Mangalore on April 29.

 

 

 

According to Barke police, Pinto was a notorious criminal in the city. He was involved in several criminal cases. Police have lodged several cases like theft and robbery against Pinto in different police stations.

The incident came to light, when the Barke police officials were on their regular night beat at Matadakani road. His body was found lying on the ground with severe injuries.

He was admitted to Wenlock hospital immediately for the treatment.  He was declared dead at 3.20am.

Police said that before his declaration of dead, Pinto had revealed the names of assaulters and also how they attacked on him using iron roads and wooden sticks. He was allegedly stabbed by Charana, Vicky and five others. But the reason behind the attack is yet to be found. Barke police have registered case against the culprits in this regard.
