Man dumped into drain after being beaten

Mangaluru, Hune 15, 2016:It is reported that a man was brought to the hospital after he was allegedly assaulted and dumped into a drain at Karavali Junction in the night; however, the incident came to light the following morning.

The victim suffered injuries on his face and was not in a position to speak. A paper was found in his pocket  by  which he was identified as Layappa (26) from Badami in Bagalkote.

After the assault on Sunday night, the man continued to remain in the drain and was unable to come out. A newspaper delivery boy noticed him on June 13, Monday morning and informed social worker Ambalapadi Vishu Shetty who took him to a hospital.
