Mangalore, June 25, 2014: The police have arrested a person for illegally transporting seven cattle in a truck to other state, at Heggunje, in Brahmavar on Tuesday. According to the police, the arrested is Narasimha Bhandary. Other two accused Monu alias Disco Monu and Farooq have fled the spot.
Clearing petty traders from foot paths.
According to a press release, the Mangalore City Corporation has been receiving complaints from public on unauthorised petty shops blocking footpaths and so on. The MCC will start a drive to clear illegal petty shops on footpaths. All owners have been asked to clear it voluntarily.
Similarly, the MCC has been preparing a list of those who have not paid tax under SAS. The revenue officials will also visit houses to verify the tax payment. Hence, the public have been appealed to extend their support to the MCC staff. Measures will be taken to publish the names of those who have not paid the tax in the MCC website. The tax payers can verify their names by furnishing details on revenue ward, block and house number. If there was any loopholes in the tax receipt, then the public can contact the MCC revenue section.
