Man robbed of Rs. 1.14 lakh in Ullal

Mangalore, July 9, 2012: A man employed at a beedie branch was attacked by a thief who arrived on a motorbike and robbed him of Rs. 1.14 lakh. 

The Ullal police have registered a case on the basis of a complaint registered  by the victim.
Reportedly, Siddique of Alekal was on his way to the Bharath Beedie branch on a rickshaw on July 7, Saturday with Rs. 2.62 lakh in his suitcase.

He meant to deposit the amount in the branch. When the auto rickshaw reached Islahi School, an unidentified miscreant on a motorbike came in the way of the auto rickshaw, threw pepper powder on Siddique’s face, snatched his suitcase, and fled the scene. 

The thief also threw some money on the road before running away, possibly to confuse anybody who might chase him.
