Mangalore, Feb 7: The Mangalore-Bangalore Horata Samithi will block the Mangalore-Bangalore train, which has been extended to Kannur, for one hour on Feb 17, Wednesday. The samithi intends to bring travelers’ problems to the attention of the Union Railway Ministry.
P V Mohan said during a meeting organized at Kandaya Bhavan in Mangalore on Feb 6, Saturday that the Union Railway Minister for State E Ahmed had assured that the extension of the Mangalore-Bangalore train to Kannur will not create any reservation problems for the citizens of Mangalore. However, citizens are now facing a number of problems with reservation of tickets. He said that staging a protest against the railway ministry is of great importance.
He said that the train will be stopped at the Netravathi Railway Bridge and a demand will be made to cancel the extension and solve the problems of Mangaloreans who have to travel between Mangalore and Bangalore on a regular basis.
