Mangalore: Bikers in veil; murders truck driver, robs two

Mangalore, Apr 30,2013: Two people came in an unregistered motor bike and robbed two truck drivers and murdered other one. The peculiar incident occurred at Bykampady Industrial Area on April 29 morning.

Two youths arrived in a motor bike and threatened the drivers by knives and robbed Rs 2,700 in cash, apart from their mobile phones. Gangadhar and Basavaraj were the two truck drivers who parked their trucks near Hassan Haji Garage on Monday morning.

Monday at around 4.15 am, the two culprits had attacked another New Delhi-based truck driver named Ismail. He was sleeping after parking his truck near CPC Logistics in Bykampady Industrial Area. He shouted for help while the both ran seizing his cash and mobile phone. The bikers grew nervous and stabbed him in the chest and then speeded their bike away. Hearing his voice other truck drivers came to the spot but couldn’t save his last breathe.

The robbers are suspected to do this kind of crimes because they think that the truck drivers who transports coal to the port here normally carries large amount of cash. They target drivers who sleep in open without any security. Such incidents have occurred in past and other labors who sleep alone at night in Bykampady have become panic after these incidents.
