Mangalore: College student attacked by ABVP activists

Mangalore, December11,2012: A student of the Narayana Guru Pre-University College in Mangalore, who is also an SFI activist, has lodged a complaint with the Mangalore North Police, alleging that he was assaulted by a group of ABVP activists at the college campus.

The student Santosh D’Souza, a second PUC student of the College, has named 15 of his college mates including Akash and Guruprasad, as the accused.

In his complaint, D’Souza said the accused had assaulted him on the college ground and at the canteen taking exception to his act of distributing pamphlets to his college mates regarding the programme organized by the SFI in connection with the 150th birth anniversary celebration of Swami Vivekananda at St Aloysius College recently. It is learnt, the ABVP activists, had earlier warned the students against attending the programme.
