Mangalore, May 25: The Diocese of Mangalore has taken all the required steps to help the families of the plane victims belonging to the Mangalorean Catholic community. Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Aloysius Paul D’Souza said that 17 - 18 members of the community were among the deceased.
The bishop plans to visit the homes of each victim; he has already attended two funerals. He also said that the diocese is willing to help the victims’ families as per their needs. Mangalore Diocese will also organize a special mass for the deceased soon.
The Catholic Bishops Conference of India said that it was disturbed and shocked by the horrible tragedy. In a press release issued on May 23, the conference expressed its heartfelt condolences to the grieving families of the innocent people who lost their lives.
Fr. Babu Joseph, the spokesperson of the conference, said that parishes all over India will offer special prayers for the victims and their bereaved families.
