Mangalore : First Mayor Sadashiva Bhandary no more

 Mangalore, March 15, 2013  :  Mangalore’s first Mayor and senior Congressman M Sadashiva Bhandary passed away  at a private hospital here on March 14, Thursday. He was  72.

Late Bhandary had served as Mayor of Mangalore for two terms from 1984-85 and 1990-91.

He has the credit of being the first Mayor of Mangalore after it was upgraded into a City Corporation. He had even served as a councilor of the erstwhile municipal council. Late Bhandary is survived by his wife, two sons and innumerous admirers.
