Mangalore : Spate of thefts worries Bikarnakatte residents

Mangalore, Dec 18, 2012  : A spate of theft cases reported from Bikarnakatta area on the night of December 17 Monday, has left the residents of the area worried.


Cash offerings made by devotees have been burgled from Sri Harihara Panduranga Vittala Bhajana Mandir, by breaking upon the locks. Even the offering box of Padua Megina Mane Sri Mundattaya Dhoomavathi Bunta and Parivara Daivagala Sthala at Kandettu, has been  broken open and the cash stolen.


This apart, three shops namely The Fresh Look, JMJ Stores and Deeksha Fancy Centre too were burgled. At JMJ Stores, thieves have stolen a cash of around Rs 1300 apart from five men’s T shirts. All the goods in the shop were found scattered on the floor. However, the thieves couldn’t lay their hands on any valuable  in the other two shops as they were unable to break open the locks of the second glass door, for fear that the sound may wake up neighbours.


Kankanady police  have visited the spot and are conducting investigations.
