Mangalore experiences rains, artificial flooding

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, May 12: The pleasant rains that Mangalore witnessed on the afternoon and evening of Tuesday is not the pre-monsoon showers, said sources in Bangalore’s Met office. The area witnessed rainfall owing to low pressure over the Bay of Bengal. However, the pre-monsoon showers are expected to fall in the last week of May, followed by the monsoons during the first week of June.

The light rains, however, flooded the city, forcing two wheelers to struggle through knee-deep water. The citizens are wondering what will happen when it pours during the monsoons.

The weather office has reported rainfall in insolated areas of Coastal Karnataka and South Karnataka. The maximum temperatures have not altered. The highest maximum temperature of 43.8 degree Celsius was recorded at Gulbarga.
