Mangalorean woman cheated on internet in a marriage proposal files complaint

Mangalore, August 2, 2014: Reports state a complaint was registered at Mangalore South Police station by one Jyothi Teresa, that  Naveen Tella Ebenezer, from Hyderabad, had met her through the web claiming that he was a Protestant Christian and was a bachelor. This was on October 27, 2007.  He went to great efforts to the lady  he would convert to the  Roman Catholic church. They  got married as per Christian Marriage act before a notary on July 18, 2009 and later at Milagres Church on August 2, 2010. 

Recently, it came to light and Naveen admitted to Jyothi that he belonged to a Scheduled Caste. The lady filed a complaint at Mangalore South police station alleging the actions of the accused amounted to breach of trust and he had duped her by falsely stating he was Christian.   The police have booked a case against the accused under IPC Section 420 and are investigating. Police said initial investigation revealed that he has duped many women in Bangalore and he was previously  married too as it is seen.  It is a lesson that maximum care is needed.
