Saudi Arabia, Feb 10: Mayur Amin (24), who hails from Mukka in Mangalore, died on the spot when a truck hit his Innova car on the Dammam Jubail Express Highway, Saudi Arabia.
Mayur was driving from Dammam to Jubail in the early morning when a speeding truck hit his vehicle and killed him on the spot. The Dammam Jubail Express Highway is considered to be the most dangerous highway in Saudi Arabia. The highway witnesses an ever-increasing number of accidents and deaths.
Mayur is the son of Madhav Amin, president of Mangaloreans’ Association of Saudi Arabia (MASA) in Dammam Alkhobar and owner of M M Amin Establishment, a company that Mayur was representing. His sister is studying medicine in Manipal.
Mayur’s body is now in the morgue of Jubail General Hospital. A number of legal and administrative formalities need to be completed before it can be flown to Mumbai where the family has settled down.
