Mangaluru passing out ceremony, Karnataka police gets new strength

Mangaluru, Jan 23, 2017: Policing in the state is advancing to improve with the addition of 66 police constables. They are among the 72 constables who took part in the passing-out parade at the District Armed Reserve grounds in Mangaluru on Jan 23, Monday.

Inspector General of Police (Western Range) P. Harishekaran inspected the parade. While the majority of them have been posted to Bengaluru West Division, the rest have been posted to Kolar, Kalaburagi, and Railway Police respectively.

Addressing the recruits, IGP Harishekaran said they should work to bring repute to the police  force and continue learning. “This is the only property we can possess,” he said.

Police constable Rajkumar Pawar was adjudged ‘best allround trainee’, constables Jagadish D.N. and Vittal Basappa were toppers in indoor and outdoor activities respectively. constable Laxmappa topped in rifle shooting. Hopefully the force will get more new faces soon.
