Meet to press for inclusion of Tulu language in 8th schedule - Tulu Koota

Mangalore, July 25, 2014: To press for the inclusion of Tulu language in the 8th schedule of the Constitution of India, Tulu Koota, Mangalore will organise a seminar called ‘Tulu Tulipu’ at Ravindra Kala Bhavan in University College campus, Hampankatta on July 27 at 3 pm media was informed.

Tulu Koota Vice President Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli said that Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy President M Janaki Brahmavar will inaugurate the seminar, Kannada Sahitya Parishat former President Harikrishna Punaroor will be the chief guest and Scholar Dr Ganesh Amin Sankamar will deliver the main address.

Tulu scholars Prof Tukaram Poojary, Dr Vaman Nandavar, Dr Palthadi Ramakrishna Achar, Dr Vasanth Kumar Perla and Dr Kishor Kumar Rai Sheni will participate in the seminar.

The demand to rename Dakshina Kannada district as Tulunadu will be highlighted to the government during the seminar, Rai added. Tulu Koota President Damodara Nisarga and others were present.
