Memo to protect Muslims during Ramzan sent to Govt

Mangaluru, June 4, 2016: IUML, Indian Union Muslim League’s Dakshina Kannada district unit members have urged the state government to provide protection to community members who have to go to masjids during night time in Ramzan month.

In a memorandum submitted to chief minister Siddaramaiah through DK DC Adoor B Ibrahim, IUML district president C Ahmed Jamal has urged that communal harmony be preserved by providing security during Ramzan. "The holy month of Ramzan is to begin on June 6 and will last till July 6. During Ramzan, community members will be observing day-long fasting and will be gathering at masjids during night for prayers," he continued.
