Udupi, Feb 10, 2017: It is reported that inauguration of the new Microbiology unit and relaunch of renovated laboratory of the 94 year old Lombard Memorial (Mission) Hospital (LMH) in Udupi was held on Thursday. Rt. Rev. Mohan Manoraj, Bishop Karnataka Southern Diocese and Dr R Sripathi, Consultant Physician at Lombard Memorial (Mission) Hospital were the Chief guests for the function.
Dr Sushil Jathanna, Director of LMH said that, “the new microbiology department is fully equipped with the latest equipment and technology and will be headed by Dr Narayan Peralaya who was till recently in the Middle East. In addition, the laboratory has been renovated and modernised providing a state of the art facility. This modernisation will enable us to provide additional services in microbiology and biochemistry to our patients at very affordable rates. The laboratory and microbiology unit will be open 24/7 hours. The department comprises of experienced and well trained staff.”
Bishop Mohan Manoraj congratulated the hospital management for all the improvements in the hospital and hoped that these additional arrangements will benefit the people of Udupi. Dr R Shripathi, Consultant Physician in Lombard Memorial (Mission) Hospital was delighted with the newly renovated laboratory and the new microbiology department.
