Mangalore, Nov 28, 2012: Milagres PU College celebrated NCC Day on Milagres School Grounds on Nov 28. The NCC cadets demonstrated a march past, and Colonel Dinesh P. Naikavde YSM, group commander of NCC Group Headquarters in Mangalore, received the honor.
Addressing the gathering, Colonel Dinesh said that NCC plays a key role in instilling values in the Indian youth. He urged cadets to work hard for national progress and concluded that the NCC can train and motivate the youth to become leaders.
Colonel Dinesh also promised jobs to anybody who would like to join the NCC after completing their graduation.
Fr. Valerian, parish priest of Milagres, said in his presidential address that NCC cadets are taught discipline, which goes a long way in shaping their values, careers, and attitude to life.
Prizes were then distributed among cadets who won various competitions organized by the college.
Gabriel D’Silva proposed the vote of thanks.
