Mild Earthquake creates Panic in Kundapura Taluk

Kundapur, June 04, 2010: A mild earthquake, measuring below 1.5 on the Richter scale, was recorded in Kundapura on Thursday 4.

Weather officials here said that, a mild tremors were experienced by the residents of Siddapur, Shankarnarayana, Halady, Kroda Bailoor, Ullar 74, Amparu, Madamakki, Shiranguru, Hanja, Aardi, Hosangady, Albady, Hallihole, Kodlady, Aajri, Amasebailu, Ratpady, Narasipura, Gundana, Kavrady, Kollanje, Jaddinagadde, Moodubage, Kalluhole, Valtharu, Haykady at around 11 am on Thursday, June 3.


After experiencing the mild tremors, feared people rushed out of their houses and offices. But no damage to lives or property was reported on Thursday, they said.
 
But some cracks on the building wall have been found said a local. Panchayat building at Jedimane of Amasebail and few other buildings in Kollur too have developed cracks.
