Mangalore, May 22, 2013: Health Minister UT Khader, Urban Development Minister Vinaykumar Sorake and Udupi MLA Pramod Madhwaraj met Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala and interacted with him on various prominent issues on May 21.
Health Minister Khader spoke to Dr Heggade on the measures that need to be taken in improving healthcare services. When Dr Heggade referred to the daycare centre for Endosulfan victims at Kokkada, Khader said the revenue department was handling the issue of Endosulfan affected people. He at the same time said that he has instructed the District Health and Family Welfare Officer to take note of the problem.
Later, speaking to reporters, Khader said he intends to visit Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu to study the health service systems there. He said the health department staff have been directed to visit all households in their limits after the onset of monsoons to check the spread of contagious diseases.
Khader also visited a mosque at Guruvayanakere, Congress office at Belthangady and Sri Rama Temple at Kanyadi.
He was accompanied by Beltangady Block Congress President K Harish Kumar and others.
Vinaykumar Sorake, Urban Development Minister, accompanied by his family members also visited Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala and offered prayers to the Lord. Later, they met Dr Heggade.
Sorake spoke to media men and said monthly meetings would be convened to expedite developmental works.Sorake also met Belthangady MLA Vasanth Bangera during his visit.
Udupi Legislator Pramod Madhwaraj also visited Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala and later met Dr Heggade.
