Miscreants attack RSS member in Kasargod

Kasargod, Feb 7, 2013 : An RSS member named Jyotish was attacked by unidentified persons at Nayarmule on February 6, Wednesday.

The incident took place when Jyotish was returning home after distributing his wedding card to his friends. Reports say Jyotish’s bike was waylaid and he was attacked with sword and other lethal weapons. Jyotish who was admitted to a local hospital was later shifted to AJ Hospital in Mangalore.

It is said Jyotish, an active RSS member had also led the Kasargod team at the Vibagh Sanghik held in Mangalore. He was reportedly facing threat to his life. It is said he was an accused in a murder case and this probably might have led to the attack.

Security in the area has been stepped up following the attack.

In Mangalore, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP and other Bhajrangdal leaders visited the hospital where Jyotish is undergoing treatment and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
