Missing teenager did not steal money, say parents

Mangalore, Nov 7, 2012 : The parents of a teenager who went missing after a theft in his house denied that he has stolen any money and claimed that he left home with their permission.

Sixteen-year-old Arman allegedly stole money from his house and drove away. He met with an accident in Anemahal in Sakleshpur, but went missing, after which his parents lodged a missing person complaint with the local police.

Mohammed Soorinje, father of Arman, stated that his son did not steal any money, but was given spending money by his parents. He said that Arman drove away in an Innova car at around 7:30 p.m. on Nov 3 with Rs. 20,000, adding that Arman did not steal this money, but received it from his father.

On Nov 4, Soorinje lodged a missing person complaint with the Pandeshwar police. He stated that he did not mention the money in his complaint, but the media had published wrong news that his son ran away from home after stealing the money.

Arman, who was last spotted wearing a grey T-shirt and black jeans, can fluently speak Hindi, Kannada, English, and Beary. Anybody who has any information about him is requested to call the Pandeshwar police at 0824-2220518.
