Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, May 28:  Sathish Devadiga and his friends, who reside in Bajpe, had called a press conference on May 26, Wednesday, and declared that the reports of Mohammed Sameer rescuing plane crash victims in three prominent Kannada dailies were wrong. However, Mohammed Sameer today declared that he had not done anything to gain publicity.

Sameer spoke to journalists at a press conference held at Press Club on May 28, Friday. He said that he had never told journalists that he had rescued Sabrina; however, since he had personally witnessed the plane crash, he had informed the control room via telephone at 6:02 a.m.

Regarding Sathish Devadiga’s statement that he had given a false statement for the sake of reward and publicity and that nobody had seen him at the site, he clarified that at 6:04 a.m., the police officers from the nearest police station had called and again at 6:14 a.m., the commissioner had called for more details and for the way to reach the site of the plane crash.

Most of the residents reached the plane crash site in 15 minutes and noticed Dr. Sabrina; and therefore, they could rescue her. Stressing that he had helped the plane crash victims out of humanity and not out of desire for publicity, he said that he did not know why Sathish Devadiga, who knows him and his family very well, felt the need to call a press conference regarding the matter.
