Kundapura , Aug 11, 2016: Reports indicate a Kundapura court has acquitted a man of murder charge, due to lack of sufficient evidence.

The acquitted culprit has been identified as Papanna. He was accussed of murdering Jayamala who was staying with him at Ambedkar Nagar, Kumbashi on 27 September 2015. It is alleged that Papanna was heavily intoxicated  and quarrelled with the woman and murdered her in an inebriated state.

A case was registered in Kundapura police station on 29 September 2015.  The court after hearing the argument and counter argument, acquitted the culprit for lack of sufficient evidence.   Advocate Shyamsundar  defended the accused.
