NABARD awards for SCDCC Bank announced

Mangaluru, Feb 23, 2016 :  The South Canara District Central Cooperative Bank (SCDCC Bank) has been chosen for a State-level NABARD Award in the category of self-help groups (SHG) states a release from the bank.

 The winner in the categories of providing loans to SHGs and recovery of loans during 2013-14 while it was the winner in the category of total turnover of SHGs in 2014-15.

SCDCC bank has helped set up 42,453 SHGs in its jurisdiction of which 31,221 were Navodaya SHGs. The total savings of these SHGs has been Rs. 188.99 crore while the bank has extended Rs. 202.25 crore loan to members of 36,118 SHGs, the release said.

Since SHGs were introduced in 2000, the bank has won NABARD awards for 15 times. Bank president M.N. Rajendra Kumar would receive the awards on March 2 in Bengaluru.
