Mangaluru, March 15, 2016: The NMAM Institute of Technology (NMAMIT), Nitte, won the overall championship, while Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology, Moodbidri, was the runners-up in the two-day inter-collegiate technical and cultural festival “Varnothsava-2016” organised by Sri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM) at Bantakal in Udupi district on Friday and Saturday.
According to a release, more than 750 participants from different engineering colleges of the State participated in the competitive cultural and technical events held as part of the festival.
Vishwavallabha Tirtha Swami of Sode Vadiraja Mutt, who is also president of Sri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust (SSVMET), gave away the prizes at the valedictory of the festival on Saturday.
Ratnakumar, secretary, SSVMET; Thirumaleshwara Bhat, principal of SMVITM, A. Ganesha, Dean (Academics), Harish B., technical advisor, Balachandra Achar H.V., event coordinator, were present.
