Moodbidri, Nov 23, 2012 : Tulu comedians Devadas Kapikad and Naveen D. Padil came together on stage to entertain a huge audience at Samaja Mandira on the evening of Nov 21, Wednesday. Both had a role to play in the Tulu comedy Pudar Deetiji, which was staged on the occasion.
While Naveen Padil played the role of deaf Bubanna, Kapikad played the role of the bank employee.
Fans of Padil and Kapikad had come all the way from Mumbai to watch the duo in action.
K. Ashraf Valpady, who has written and staged several comedies, created history by bringing the two on stage for the first time.
Naveen Padil had quit the Cha Parka troupe and had joined the Lakumi troupe. He had become very popular because of his excellent performance in Ganguna Gammath. He later acted a few roles in TV serials and films. When asked if he has re-joined Cha Parka, he told reporters that he is part of all Tulu troupes and is currently busy with a Tulu movie.
Award winning artist Devadas Kapikad had won the hearts of Tulu people by creating humorous Tulu plays.
