Navodaya Gram Vikas Charitable Trust to hold Decennial Celebration

Mangalore, Feb 9: The Dakshina Kannada district central co-operative Bank, Mangalore and Navodaya Gram Vikas Charitable Trust, Mangalore will jointly organize the decennial ceremony of Navodaya Self Help Group at Paduthirupathi Maidan of Karkala on February 12, 13 and 14, said M N Rajendra Kumar, president, Navodaya Gram Vikas Charitable Trust, speaking at the press meet held at SCDCC Bank on February 9, Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that 500 self help groups will be identified and honoured based on their activities in order to encourage them. Various renowned artistes will present their cultural programmes on all the three days.

After the religious rituals performed by Vedamurthy Eshwara Bhat of Mahalingeshwara Bhat, Alangaru, Mallikarjuna Kharge, Union Labour and Employment Minister will inaugurate the stage programme, while Lakshmana Savadhi, State Government co-operative minister will preside over the function.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel will inaugurate the exhibition art of modern agricultural equipment and Umeshchandra Sarangi, chairman; NABARD will honour the Self Help Groups.

Western Range IGP, Gopal Hosur will inaugurate the procession to be held from the temple to the venue at 3.30 pm., he added.
