Mangalore, June 03: Sachin, the hero of the new Kannada movie “Shri Moksha,” informed reporters at a press conference held at Press Club that the movie will be released on June 10, Thursday. 99 percent of the cast of this movie, which was directed by Keshav Shetty, is from Mangalore. Actor Sachin says that the script of the movie is satisfying and unique and that the team has worked hard to make this movie a super hit.
Actor Sachin Suvarna started his film career with the Kannada movie “Encounter Dayanayak” and later worked on Bollywood hits such as “Kurukshetra,” “Vaastav,” and “Black Friday.” “Shri Moksha” is Sachin’s third Kannada movie, the first two being “Encounter Dayanayak” and “Ei Preethi Onthara.” Sachin has also played a major role in the movie’s script writing and screen play.
“Shri Moksha,” which is based on the life of a gangster, has led to a number of speculations. Sachin clarified that the movie, although based on a gangster’s life, deals with the intricacies of human relationships too. Chiefly it is the tale of a fisherman who later joins the underworld, he said.
Ravi Bhat of Puttur is the cinematographer and Sujeeth Shetty is the music director. Manohar Shetty Nandalike, a renowned theatre artist based in Mumbai, and Mohan Joshi have also played roles in the movie.
Keshav Shetty, the director of the movie, has worked with ETV and ZEE Kannada. He said that the movie reflects the beautiful culture and sceneries of Mangalore. He also said that the movie is 100 percent violence-free and promotes communal harmony. The movie is meant for the entire family.
Shivu Jamakhandi, the writer of the script and the lyrics, said that Sachin called for a press conference in Mangalore before doing so in Bangalore owing to his love and respect for the city. He said that working in Mangalore was a great experience.
“Shri Moksha,” with its distinct Mangalorean flavour, was shot in Nehru Stadium in Mangalore. The script of the movie also uses Tulu. Parts of the movie were also shot in Bangalore, Mirik in Darjeeling, and Mandya.
Vidhya Suvarna, one of the producers of the movie and the wife of Sachin Suvarna, and Santhosh, the choreographer, were also present for the press conference.
