Mangalore, Sep 04, 2014: An official press release stated,  the fourth annual convocation of the Nitte University will be held on September 6, at 3 pm at K S Hegde Auditorium. Chancellor of Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Deemed University, Karad, Maharashtra, Dr Vedprakash Mishra will be the chief guest and will deliver the convocation address. Chancellor of the Nitte University N Vinaya Hegde will preside.

A total of 390 students will be awarded the degree certificates. The category wise segregation is PhD-9, Medical- 52, Dental-140, Pharmacy-38, Nursing-123, Physiotherapy-12 and Allied Health Science-12. Nitte University has 11 UG courses and 44 PG courses apart from doctoral programs in the faculties of Medical, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences. The second batch of PhD students will be awarded degrees in the convocation. Three Nitte University Gold medals and Two Endowment Gold Medals will be awarded and 21 merit certificates will also be given away.
