Old age homes to get Rs. 8 lakh every year

Udupi, Oct 5, 2013: Urban development minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said that the State Governement has already released Rs.8 lakh for each old age home with capacity of 25 inmates. Speaking after inaugurating the World Senior Citizens Day celebrations in Udupi, the minister said the funds would be released every year.

The minister said intimate measures would be taken to facilitate the concession bus fares with 25 per cent deduction in KSRTC buses for senior citizens. He added that the issues  concerning the senior citizens will be attended on priority.
